Please note that the tourist tax is a requirement set by the City of Venice and, as per Airbnb regulations, is never included in the booking price. It must always be paid separately before arrival.

It is important to understand that the Venice Access Fee and the Tourist Tax are two different charges with different purposes and applications.

Venice Access Fee

Who pays: Tourists visiting Venice for a single day without staying overnight.

Payment: Generally made online or at access points to the city.

Tourist Tax

Who pays: All tourists staying overnight in accommodation facilities in Venice.

Even if some people are exempt from the Venice Access Fee, this does not mean they are exempt from the Tourist Tax.

If you stay overnight in an accommodation facility in Venice, you are still required to pay the Tourist Tax for each night of your stay. The Tourist Tax is specifically linked to overnight stays and helps finance local tourist services, regardless of whether the visitor is exempt from the access fee.

Make sure you are aware of these differences to avoid any surprises during your stay.
