Tourist Tax:
Who must pay: All tourists staying overnight in accommodation facilities in Venice
Even if some people are exempt from the Venice Access Fee, this does not mean they are exempt from the Tourist Tax.
Overnight in Accommodation: If a person exempt from the Access Fee decides to stay overnight in Venice, they must still pay the Tourist Tax for each night of their stay.
In short: Even if you are exempt from the Venice Access Fee, you must still pay the Tourist Tax if you are staying overnight. The Tourist Tax is specifically linked to overnight stays and helps fund local tourist services, regardless of exemption from the Access Fee. Be aware of these differences to avoid surprises during your stay.
